Our Events
We get together monthly to explore faith, hear interesting speakers, share our stories, and make new friends, in an environment that affirms LGBTQ+ identities and encourages exploration of spirituality.
About Us
Inspired by the great work done at Oasis Church Waterloo, and their own Open House group, a team of LGBTQ+ Christians from Nottingham decided to organise a similar group at home. Made up of friends from a variety of backgrounds, including Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed, and Anglican, our group provides a safe space for people who often have been made to feel that their faith and sexuality/gender identity were at odds with each other. While it's encouraging that more and more churches are becoming LGBTQ+ inclusive and affirming, we know that there's a long way to go. Our monthly events provide an opportunity for all to be themselves, share their stories, and learn about issues affecting people of faith who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and more.
How Can We Help
We offer free monthly events where anyone over 18 who is LGBTQ+ can make friends, explore faith, be affirmed just the way they are, and find helpful resources.
Monthly Events
Our free monthly events in Nottingham bring together LGBTQ+ people of faith to share food and drink, meet new friends, hear thought provoking speakers, and pray together in a safe and affirming space. Whether you're new to the city and want to meet people, have felt excluded in a previous experience of Church, or are simply looking to have an interesting experience, you're welcome to join us.
LGBTQ+ Resources Library
We have a library of relevant books and literature, published by a range of authors and denominations, to help LGBTQ+ Christians understand gender, sexuality, religion and the Bible. We also have resources for Churches who would like to explore and better understand issues of faith and sexuality, which we can share to promote mutual care and understanding.
Request a speaker
Members of our leadership team can visit your Church or organisation to talk about our work, their life story, inclusion, same-sex marriage, and much more. We come from a range of backgrounds and are committed to working with others to promote respect, inclusion, and understanding.
Signposting
We can help point you towards relevant LGBTQ+ affirming services in the area should you need practical assistance.
Affirming Churches directory
Whether you're new to the area, haven't been to Church in a long time, or are just looking to explore faith and spirituality, we can point you towards local Churches where our members feel safe and included.
Advocacy and volunteering
We aim to support other organisations with similar objectives both locally and nationally, and we aim to share opportunities to volunteer and take part.
